It's what my daughter is expecting for her prom in July. Proms are a new thing over here.
Can't think where they got the idea from!!!

Can't think where they got the idea from!!!
How many arks have they found now????
been baptised for 15 years and it still same crap.
my wife who takes notes and thinks she pays attention when the brother says jesus is our meadiator and doesn't pay attention that the watchtower just stated he is the mediator for the anointed.
oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh thats right we do benifit but rank an file dont catch the confusing statements.
I know I don't believe any of it now but I would still like to understand what they are teaching but I'm confused now with this Jesus is mediator only for the 144,000 thingy. Can some lovely person on here explain it to me, please.
Are they saying the free gift of everlasting life etc. is for anointed only and everyone else has to work for it?
Also, if Christ is not mediator for everyone else how/why are they supposed to pray through him?
Thank you
Amelia

hey!
i made this facebook event, a spin off parody of sorts to http://www.facebook.com/ev.
ent.php?eid=134539516609 "auxiliary pioneering in april 2011".
This might work better!
http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=118339764910343
I was in a group for Auxiliary Pioneering a JW had set up but they booted me off. I think I might have asked too many awkward questions. Lol
(a little background info before i ask my question...).
my sister-in-law (non-jw), who manages a popular chain restaurant near a kingdom hall, just found out that my wife and i have recently faded, so she decided to get something off her chest the other day... you guessed it: she wanted us to know that jws are the worst customers ever!
she then told us some really embarrassing stories about how jws would request a table for 15 to 20 people (after a sunday meeting) and then (when the bill came) some of the jws would start deliberating amongst themselves on whether or not the waiter was diligent or not (to justify the low tip he was getting anyway).
Eating out in a large group was something we did regularly in Spain and in my experience JWs are tight and not just with their tips.
At the end of the meal, someone, usually an elder, would divide the total bill amount equally between the total number present regardless of what each person had. Even though I had no wine and my two children had the half price kiddy meals I was expected to pay the divided amount times three! No-one seemed to think this was unfair except me and when I objected I was accused of making a fuss and told "this is the way we always do it"!
When I went out with my neighbours and their kids the bill was automatically split between the adult numbers only.
this post is going to seem erratic to some, but i'm afraid it's the best i can do.
i can only write on this board during the spare moments i have when my mother is not in the home.
so i need to get as much info in per thread as possible given the time constraints.
Hi Doubtful.
I found this very useful. It uses just the Watchtower CD rom to prove it is not 607BCE. Hope it helps.

this is my first post after lurking for months.
hopefully i won't make any mistakes while typing and trying to post this so please bear with me!.
i had a bible study with jehovah's witnesses and i stopped the studies with them a couple of years back.
Good for you salsa girl and welcome.
I wish I had listened to my inner voice when I was studying. I knew about the pyramids and still carried on!
I convinced myself that once I was baptised they would accept me. I reasoned I would be invited to gatherings, have someone to sit with at assemblies and belong, because I had proven my commitment publicly.
How stupid was I? I tried harder and harder but getting more and more ill needing stronger and stronger pills just to walk into a KH.
You have had such a lucky escape.
after reading the threads on watchtower encouraging 10 year olds to take the baptismal plunge, i wonder if they have an actual legal right to terminate their agreements without any penalty enforced by the organization.. i think those of us who were "too young" to enter into any contract could be absolved of any agreements, even religious vows, because we were still obviously too young to understand all the "fine print" before signing.. what do you think??
?.
I think that unless the GB can prove beyond reasonable doubt under laboratory conditions that they are God's direct channel of communication we should all get our baptisms rescinded with no repurcussions regardless of age.
Plus, each time they change or flip flop a doctrine you should have the right to null and void your baptism on the grounds that the current thinking has changed from what you originally signed up for.
Like any of that will actually happen!!!
ok...so this is my story.. i'm not sure why i have to post this..maybe more for myself than others.... .
back 2002 i had a my daughter.
i was 18. her father was was pretty much an awful mate and never worked....the same old story.... anyway a long story short we ended up moving in with his aunt, who at the time, was a sister.
Hi itsbeenalongtime and welcome to the forum.
You have been through a lot and for what it's worth my opinion is you need to report this slimeball to the Police. There may even be a file open on him already.
Holy Spirit has no part in the appointing of men as has been proven to you (and many others before you) and that is why so many elders and MSs have an undisclosed history of abusing those less able to defend themselves. They are predatory bullies and will remain that way until the abused speak out. Not an easy thing to do but I am sure the Police will treat you with a lot more respect and kindness than the elders.
We will support you on this forum for as long as you need and with whatever decision you make.

as of late i have been thinking about this.
my sig other and i have successfully faded, and the last kh i attended (cards were moved to) was like 8+ years ago.
i really do not care either way, however i have been asking myself as of late if i should.
I reached out to God for help, but a mind-contol cult snuck in and
took over. They led me to their altar and told me to dedicate myself to their organization.
So true.
